reports that 17-year-old actor Tsepo Doncabe, who is doing his last year in high school missed four weeks of school as he was filming Shaka Ilembe.
Doncane plays the younger version of King Sohlangana in the Mzansi Magic drama series Shaka Ilembe.
The publication adds that the actor was told by the school not to return when he was done filming the hit series and the producers of Shaka Ilembe went to the school to explain the situation and they took him back.
It is believed the actor was also told to leave acting as it interferes with his studies when he scored a role in Uzalo back in August 2022.
Doncane, who is doing his matric says he loves acting as he’s been doing theatre from a young age.TVSA reports that the talented Shaka Ilembe actor Tsepo Doncabe has also secured a role in Mzansi Wethu’s first telenovela Sibongile and The Dlaminis as Sangweni.
His character is a teenager, who is naïve and has an excellent relationship with his stepsister Sibongile (Luyanda Zwane) who is the leading character on the show.
“While he is struggling at school, he has great dreams of finishing school, following in the footsteps of his sister, and perhaps taking his family out of Ixopo,” adds the publication.
Doncabe also stars in SABC1 soapie Uzalo as Nkunzi’s (Masoja Msiza) grandson, Sibonelo’s (Wiseman Mncube) nephew and Pastor Gwala’s (Menzi Biyela) son Nkazimulo.
The South African reached out to Shaka Ilembe executive producer Nomzamo Mbatha, who was not available for a comment at the time of publishing this article.
