Springboks star Cheslin Kolbe’s wife Layla: ‘I told you we are lifting the trophy on your birthday’

Cheslin Kolbe’s wife Layla predicted on 15 October, when the Springboks beat France that the South African rugby team will win the World Cup on her husband’s birthday.

 
She said confidently at the time: “We are lifting that trophy on your birthday @cheslinkolbe 🙏🏽🙌🏽🏆☝️💚.”Springboks star player Cheslin Kolbe’s wife, Layla Kolbe took to her Instagram on Sunday, 29 October after Springboks beat the All Blacks to share a picture of her family celebrating his 30th birthday.

She captioned the family photo: “Happy Birthday Cheslin Kolbe! Thank you, Jesus! For Cheslin, for our families that have been here through it all, for South Africa. For His Glory!! Yes man take that! Champions!!!! 🏆🏆🏆🏆🇿🇦💚💛🙏🏽. I told you so.”

A photo of Kolbe hiding his face went viral on Sunday morning on social media minutes before the Bokke took to stage to lift the cup.

The Mirrior reports that Cheslin Kolbe couldn’t watch the final minutes of South Africa’s Rugby World Cup final win over New Zealand as he feared his yellow card would cost the Springboks. The winger was given a yellow card in the latter stages of the final game against New Zealand’s All Blacks.
