#1. Nyalleng Thibedi
These South African actors are Engineers in real life

Actress Princess Nyalleng Thibedi played the role of Zekhethelo Mhlongo on Uzalo. The Zekhethelo character was raised by Nkunzi, joined the police force and was involved with Njeza and Mondli. When she hits rock bottom, Zekhethelo turns to prostitution, a life she regrets as the community reminds her of her past lifestyle.

You might see her on the screen and think that talent got her there. That could be true. Although Nyalleng Thibedi is learned. Would you believe it if I told you that, she is a university graduate? She pursued Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering at the University of Cape Town and graduated in 2001. To add to it, she also went to school in New York to study acting. While in New York, she took part in several movie productions.

#2. Cebo Mthembu
Qualification: Diploma in Electrical and Power Engineering

It’s been five years since he started playing the role of police officer Nyawo on the SABC 1 popular drama series, Uzalo. When he joined the show, fans didn’t get his role.

But since he’s been promoted to captain, he’s been a little more in the spotlight and fans are loving it. Allowing Cebolenkosi Mthembu to wow viewers with his prodigious vocabulary has since earned him the nickname, Mr. Oxford Dictionary.

Away from the small screen, Mthembu is also an avid fitness fanatic who is into numerous sports. He loves running and is a passionate athlete. The electrical engineer completed the Comrades Marathon in 2018 and is working on beating his own time.

Qualification: Degree in Sound Engineering

Tsoai plays the role of John Maputla on Skeem Saam, where he is a university lecturer cum businessman. A gentle giant, intelligent and confident. His life revolves around his family and work. He is Meikie’s husband, and together they have two sons, Leeto and Thabo. He holds a Degree in Sound Engineering which he earned while working as petrol attended.
