South African Artists Who Collaborated With American Artists But Didn’t Make A Hit

In the world of South African music, rappers go on to think that if they collaborate with rappers from abroad it will give them leverage to be successful. The mindset has worked for other rappers like AKA, Nasty C and others but it certainly didn’t work for others. Here is a list of South African rappers who collaborated with American rappers and flopped.

1. Du Boiz

Du Boiz has been labelled as an upcoming rapper for too long. He does have the funds to make him successful but not the talent. Du Boiz collaborated with TYGA in a song called “Dope Dreamz”. The song was good but had very little impact in South African Hip Hop.

2. Emtee

Emtee has/had a successful career in Mzansi Hip Hop. Though too many scandals led to his downfall, he certainly has the talent to bounce back. Emtee failed to make an impact when he collaborated with Trey Songz in one of the most unknown songs in South Africa.

3. Anatii

Anatii is a hitmaker for sure. But his career hasn’t had much impact in South African music. He does have an album with AKA which did wonders but things didn’t go well when he collaborated with DJ Khaled. The song had zero impact in South African music.

4. Nasty C

Nasty C is known for making hits with American rappers. He certainly has made hits with artists like French Montana, ASAP Ferg and others. However he collaborated with T.I and failed dismally in making a hit.

5. Anatii

Anatii appears in the list again because he has collaborated with another American rapper and failed to make a hit again. Anatii featured Omarion but the song didn’t make much of an impact.
