Actress Sophie Ndaba has been opening up about her mental health and her struggles with depression over the years.
Ndaba is best known for her on-screen character of Queen Moroka in the SABC 1s drama series ‘Generations.’
Since then, she has fast become a brand.
In the wake of her newfound fame, the actress disappeared from the small screen leaving many wondering about her whereabouts.
Frail-looking pictures of Ndaba even flooded social media leaving many worried.
It was revealed that the actress had been diagnosed with diabetes, which took a toll on her and led to depression.
Despite the setback, she has since bounced back and doing what she loves the most. She has been candid about falling into depression and going through severe weight loss.The actress opened up about her life on the second season of Mzansi Magic’s four-part series ‘Black Conversations,’ where she is a guest panelist.
The four-part series addresses topical issues within the black community, mainly focusing on mental health, success and storytelling.
Ndaba opened up on the importance of Ubuntu and her mental health.
She said: “This is why I am glad to be talking on the mental health topic because I learnt how to deal with navigating people’s opinions about me. I was told I would never be loved by anyone based on how I look right now. I feel I will be able to help enlighten others on how I chose not to allow anyone’s opinion about me to affect me anymore.
