Larger-than-life Television star Somizi Mhlongo, landed himself in hot water for allegedly stealing the concept of his hit cooking show Dinner At Somizi’s. The show which aired on 1 Magic has become Mzansi’s favorite as it features the who’s who of showbiz. According to s screenshot of the show’s proposal shared by a Twitter user @Eusebius, the brain behind the show Hastings Moeng, sent an email to Somizi and Themba on July 28, 2014, proposing a cooking show Dinner Kwa Somizi. “On 28 July 2014, Hastings Moeng proposed DinnerAtSomizis to Somizi & Themba. The description of the show is materially similar to the one now flighted (to the shock of Mr Moeng). See the 2014 email below and decide for yourself,” wrote the Twitter user.
2. Somizi And Mohale Cause A Stir With Their Rich Rich Post
Somizi and Mohale’s snaps gave many of us major chest pains as they show off their riches. The famous couple posted a picture of themselves headed out to Zimbali in style, of course, in a private jet for comfort. Somizi and Mohale were both dressed in matching blue Rich Mnisi sweaters and of course, had their Louis Vuitton luggage in hand. “Let’s go, home baby… off to work and play in Zimbali,” captioned Somizi.
3. Somizi: There Is A Little Bit Of Truth In The Clicks Ad
Somizi Mhlongo, weighed in on the Clicks saga that has gripped the nation in September. Whilst overall agreeing with the outrage felt by South Africans, the Idols judge took time out of his busy schedule on Monday, 7 September 2020 to share his opinion on the subject matter. Somizi began by emphasizing the fact that he did not agree with the ad campaign, and that it was undeniably racist. He believed that if they had used women of the same race to demonstrate healthy and unhealthy hair, it would have made much more sense, however, due to the fact that they had labeled black women’s hair as damaged, it was inexcusable.
4. Somizi Slammed For His ‘Poor People’ Joke
Media personality Somizi Mhlongo has once again landed on the wrong side of social media when he made a joke that triggered many, considering the unemployment rate in the country. Somgaga who was living it large whilst on vacation in Durban with his best pals and his social media feeds are filled with snaps of everything pricey. In a video of he and his husband Mohale Motaung-Mhlongo on vacation in KwaZulu-Natal at a nature reserve in Ematendeni, Somizi can be heard mocking his friends and describing them as poor. Standing at the top of the treehouse, Somizi looked down at his friends, and jokingly screamed “hello poor people.”
5. Somizi Wants A Polygamous Marriage
To our surprise, one of Mzansi’s most-loved television personalities, Somizi revealed that he’d like to have a polygamous marriage. He shared this in an episode of his cooking show, Dinner At Somizi when he had Jub Jub as his guest. SomG also revealed that as much as he’s open to that idea, he doubts his husband Mohale will agree to the idea. He said that he’d like to have four to five husbands.
