South African media personality and Idols judge, Somizi Mhlongo left Mzansi in awe after he posted his picture wearing school uniform in commemoration of Youth Day.
 

“Happy Youth Day every young person in Mzansi from Som G High,” he said.

Mzansi couldn’t help it, but compliment Somizi for being part of the people still commemorating the Youth Day in South Africa.

Youth Day is commemorated every year in South Africa on June 16th as a public holiday remembering a protest which birthed waves of protests across the country and its also known as the Soweto uprising which happened in 1976.

This year’s commemoration comes at the height of a COVID-19 pandemic which has seen many people losing their jobs and young people are at the centre of unemployment.

Economic Freedom Fighters leader, Julius Malema addressing EFF supporters at Uitsig High School in Centurion said there is really nothing to celebrate for young who remain jobless after graduating.

“When you say happy youth Day, you’re saying the graduates that have graduated and do not have jobs must be happy with that condition,” he said.
