Somizi reveals he’s suffering from a deadly illness. It’s not HIV.See

Somizi Mhlongo has opened up about his battle with depression.
Taking to Instagram, Somizi shared a clip he recorded in one of his bathroom talk sessions but had held out on posting.

“Recorded this yesterday and decided not to post it. I watched it this morning and it felt like I was listening to something I’ve been needing to hear. It felt so good.

I woke up feeling good as well. So, I hope it has the same impact on you as well. Have a great day,” he said
In the clip, Somizi opened up about taking charge of his mental health.

“This condition doesn’t choose your financial status, doesn’t choose race, gender, sexuality when it’s attacking; it’s attacking. What I’m doing now is dismantling it of the power that it thinks it has by one talking about it.

“Now that I can recognise it, don’t deny it, but don’t glorify it. Recognise it and say, ‘I see you and I’m going to do something about it’.”

While doing his morning facial routine, the media personality took to his Instagram Live and spoke of the days when he felt emotionally overwhelmed.

“I sometimes also remember days when I wake up and I wish I never woke up. That is when you know you [are] either depressed or you are going through a lot of things and you wish you want to throw in the towel. And that is when again I am grateful for the spirit that I have. That 10% of that positive mindset is very important.”
