‘Someone hurt my son : ’Costa Titch’s mom questions night he died

The mother of late Amapiano hitmaker Costa Titch has shared her heartbreak over unanswered questions following his death more than four months ago.

This follows a delay in a toxicology report, which she claims may have the answers on who “hurt” him.

Speaking exclusively to The South African, the woman also claimed that contrary to media reports, Costa was neither epileptic nor abused drugs.

The pint-size star – real name Costantinos Tsobanoglou – died on 11 March after suddenly collapsing on stage. The rapper was performing at the Ultra Music Festival in Johannesburg.

A cause of death has yet to be established.Speaking to The South African, Costa Titch’s mother, Lara Langeveld – aka “Mama Titch” – revealed she had yet to receive the results of a toxicology test.

She said: “I still don’t have answers to what caused his death.”

According to EWN, SA has a current backlog of close to 40 000 outstanding toxicology reports. Toxicology tests are used to decipher if someone has been exposed to certain chemicals or toxins. When asked if she had decided to pursue a private route, Mama Titch said: “I did try to get a private toxicology test done but we could not as Costa was cremated. At the time, I did not realise we needed a complete private autopsy to be done to get a private test done”.

NO EPILEPSY OR SEIZURE
Meanwhile, Lara disputed reports Costa had epilepsy.

She continued: “I can tell you for a fact he never had a seizure as you can tell from the video they took of him collapsing that his legs were moving but not his arms. He never suffered from epilepsy, and we would like to know who told the media that he did.

“No authorities even contacted me when he died. I just got a call from his managers to tell me that night. Afterwards, I collapsed from the shock. I am still waiting for answers and I will not rest until I do”.Lara also had multiple unanswered questions about the night Costa died.

She said: “I heard my son only died about two hours afterwards yet Baragwanath [hospital] was only a few kilometres away. Why did they not take him there? Nobody will answer these questions. She added: “I accept God took my son, but I cannot accept how he died. What broke me was hearing my son was pleading for help, and that has scarred me for life. I know this country has a high crime rate, but I still want justice for my son.

“I highly suspect someone hurt my son as he was not on chronic medication, and he was healthy.”

NO DRUG ABUSE EITHER
Costa’s mom claimed that the hitmaker had not abused substances.

She added: “As far as drugs he was on a health programme and hated any form of drug use. All close friends and anyone who knew him can verify he never took drugs”.
