Speaking to MacG, he has it that a clause in the contract entitled lead actors to a stake of 14% of revenue, but that was not the case despite Generations having revenue of around shared R500 million. The failure to keep the promises that were made led to a strike which saw more than 14 lead actors axed from Generations, like Leleti Khumalo and the late Menzi Ngubane.

He has it that producers kept shifting goalposts; that’s when we struck. In the mix of things, he went on to dive into how actors a remunerated. Speaking on salaries on Generations – It should be fair and related to the contribution, but salaries depend on a fee. The bubbly actor made it known that showrunners like Generations swingle actors’ money and hardly honoured their contracts and was a victim of this.

The bubbly actor even revealed that he turned Gomora down when they invited him for auditions. However, he said that Gomora showrunners had to go through Ferguson Films to land him on their cast. And he made it known that he got the leading role without any auditions and was one of the few actors who did not stick to the script.
