Award-winning Hip-hop artist, Musawenkosi ‘Nish’ Molefe who was part of the iconic group, Skwatta Kamp has passed away.
Skwatta Kamp was a seven member hip-hop group, which was founded in 1996 and released their last album in 2009.The group members included, Infa, Nish, Shugasmakx, Nemza, Slikour, Bozza and Flabba. The group walked away with several awards including, two SAMA awards and a Channel O best hip-hop music video award. Molefe re-joined members Shugasmakx, Nemza, Slikour, Bozza and Relo Makhubo for their comeback in 2018.
Molefe’s passing comes seven years after the death of Sindisiwe Manqele who was known as Flabba. Molefe paid a heartfelt tribute to Flabba who died in 2015, after being murdered by his girlfriend.
The group confirmed the news on social media yesterday saying that Molefe died due to COVID-19 complications. Music fans and celebrities have taken to social media to pay tribute to the late rapper:
Slikour shared a video of the Molefe on his Instagram Stories, writing: “too soon for us, on time for God. RIP, bro.”
His Insta story was followed by another post where he thanked Molefe for sharing his energy and talent with the group and joked about him starting a group with Flabba in heaven.Woke up believing we in control until 14h30 when God reminded us who’s in control. Thank you Nish for sharing your life with us, bringing Flabba to us, the laughs, sarcasm, music, verses and a positive energy.

Rapper @Maggz tweeted: “RIP NISH. The footprints you made with skwatta Kamp created a path for most of us. Rest Easy King.”

Molefe apparently succumbed to the Covid-19 virus after being admitted to hospital and after a lengthy stay in hospital.
