Due to recent twists in his plot, actor Thabo Mkhabela, who plays Leshole Mabitsela on Skeem Saam, has fans scared that he may be leaving the popular soapie.
Leshole’s fans are protective of him because they identify with his experience. They’ve also grown closer to Mkhabela, who lost his on-screen father, Big Boy Mabitsela, to a stroke when veteran actor Charles Maja died in 2020.
Though they are relieved that Leshole’s ambitions are coming true, they believe Leshole’s temporary departure is a double blow to the show.
Skeem Saam and Mkhabela have not confirmed his departure from the show, as it is only temporary and part of the storyline. Last week, the actor took to social media to promote the show on personal accounts.
Last Thursday, Lehasa Maphosa was beaten up by the trio Thabo Maputla (Cornet Mamabolo), Kwaito Seakamela (Clement Maosa), and Katlego Peterson (Patrick Seleka) (Cedric Fourie).
The lads traveled to Johannesburg in search of Pretty Seakamela (Lerato Marabe), who is currently dating Lehasa. They are fiercely protective of Kwaito’s younger sister (Pretty), who is dating Katlego. Things took a turn for the worst when Lehasa reminded the group that Pretty is an adult who makes her own decisions.
Pretty could already be carrying Lehasa’s kid, according to Twitter user #SkeemSaam. Lehasa will be overjoyed by the news, since he has been yearning for a child since his wife died of cancer. These developments may tempt Lelo Mthiyane (Amanda du Pont) to return to Johannesburg, where she planned to trap Lehasa with a child.
Pretty will be afraid because she is still young, but Lehasa will support her because he is prepared to be a father. Fans of the program admire Lehasa and Pretty’s romance because it’s forbidden, unexpected, and wonderful to see.
