Sithelo Shozi and Andile Mpisane’s child turned two

Andile Mpisane and Sithelo Shozi recently celebrated the birthday of their daughter Coco.

Coco turned two years in what is a landmark birthday milestone.

You know the face, but do you know the girl? Disc jockey, musician and much-loved content creator Sithelo Shozi (29) recently made her TV debut on The Masked Singer SA as one of the detectives on the show.

Unapologetic and candid, she shares her views on religion, personal growth, motherhood and marriage. Oh, and she just dropped yet another music project.

“People often think ‘Sithelo’ is my stage name, but it isn’t. It means ‘fruits’. My mom, a priest, named me after the Fruits of the Holy Spirit, which are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and selfcontrol. Instead of picking just one, she chose the collective and named me Sithelo. My mom gives the best names; she named all my children too, each with a unique name with weighty meanings behind them. My sister’s name, Zekhethelo, is also different and rare. In full, it means intombi zokhethelo.

It’s weird how I joined The Masked Singer SA. Anele (Mdoda) often calls me and we speak a lot of gibberish together. Then out of the blue one day she called and asked if I had watched The Masked Singer before.

My answer was yes, I’d sometimes catch the UK and Australian ones. Then she said, ‘OK, please watch it more and get back to me’. A month later, she tells me she’s bringing The Masked Singer to South Africa and wants me on it. I was shocked and of course very happy for her. But, she knew I would never do TV!
