Siphesihle Ndaba who portrayed the role of Mazet in the popular telenovela will not be returning to the screens next month as the producers did not renew her contract.

According to Zimoja, Siphesihle Ndaba was given the boot because she lacked something for the show.

“Don’t take me wrong, she is a brilliant actress, but she lacked something for the show,” one of the sources revealed.

Another source who spoke to the same publication claims that the actress was axed by the producers because she lacked enthusiasm. The source revealed that Siphesihle no longer had the same energy she brought when she joined the telenovela.

The source added that the scriptwriters tried to revamp her role and wardrobe but it did not work out hence the decision to axe her character.

“When she joined the show, she won the hearts of the viewers with her enthralling performances as Mazet, but she no longer has that thing.” At first, they thought changing her wardrobe would add a different element but nothing changed. “They put her in a relationship but there was no range of emotions, and this was the last option,” the source revealed.

Meanwhile, this comes barely a month after Siphesihle Ndaba opened up on how she bagged her first TV acting gig on Gomora.

The fast-rising actress revealed that she landed her role on Gomora soon after graduating. She claims that she saw the advert on Instagram and decided to audition since she had just graduated and had nothing else to do.

Siphesihle said that she almost did not go through with the auditions but by the grace of God, she did the auditions and got the job after 4 callbacks.
