Singer’s debut single a hit

Despite only recently making her debut, Gwyn Makhanya’s smash hit single, “Radio,” is dominating the radio.

The singer claims that hearing herself on the radio still feels surreal. The song debuted on East Coast Radio’s top 40 music hit list shortly after it was released.

 

Iyoh, she added, “I’ve been waiting so long for this to happen.

Makhanya has always had a passion for music, and in elementary school, teachers frequently requested that she sing during assemblies or concerts.

Her father intended her to become an accountant after she graduated, but she decided to pursue music full-time.

I told him I can only count the money he provides me, she answered, “Me and money, hahaha.”

Makhanya attended the Campus for Performing Arts in Morningside because her enthusiasm prevailed.

She has performed in a variety of settings, but her favorite places to sing are upscale restaurants like Spiga in Morningside and Cafe la Plage at The Pearls in uMhlanga.

She was never the lead singer, though, and was still far from realizing her goal of being a successful solo artist until the beginning of this year.

to increase her income While attending Verulam Secondary School, Makhanya continued her side business of hairdressing. She claimed that her clients loved it when she sang while doing their hair.
