South African vocalist Lerato Molapo, known as Lira, broke into tears while receiving a birthday present from Metro FM on 14 March.
Lira remains one of the most talented vocalists in the country and has been dishing music since a young age. She became famous after lining up alongside Alicia Keys, Shakira, K’Naan and John Legend at the FIFA World Cup Kick-Off Concert.
The talented vocalist performed a rendition of Pata Pata, a hit song by the late Miriam Makeba, and fans loved it. With a lot of fame and top music, she survived a stroke when most fans thought she might lose her life.
Lira revealed the news on Instagram to celebrate her birthday, leaving fans wishing him well.

Wishing the talented star, Metro FM bought Lira a cake as a birthday present, and she loved it. Indeed, it was a special present and moment that took her over with emotions, and she ended up with tears of joy.
“When music speaks louder than words.” Metro FM started speaking of the experience.
“We are still not over our special birthday with the amazing Lira, who had all the emotions yesterday reflecting on her legacy & rising again.” they finished wishing her well.

LIRA’S STROKE
While celebrating Lira’s birthday, we looked at when she had a stroke and survived it. In March 2022, Lira had a stroke while in Germany, and it was painful news to hear for most of her fans.
The stroke affected her speech, and her fans feared she would not be able to sing again. Surprisingly, she survived and has been making massive progress in her recovery since then.
