Sindi Dlathu is a veteran award-winning South African actress best known for her role on Muvhango as Thandaza Mokoena. She also starred in Muvhango for several years before joining River, where she is best known as Lindiwe Dlamini-Dikana.Without a doubt, she is one of Mzansi’s most prominent actors. Her dedication and unrivaled abilities have made her a household figure in the entertainment industry.

Young as she might look, Sindiswa Dlathu is now 48 years old. She was born in January 1974, in Meadowlands in Soweto, in the Gauteng province of Johannesburg, South Africa. She was raised in Soweto till she left school to pursue acting and has since stayed in several cities.Sindi Dlathu attended high school but was distracted by her acting career, which took off quickly before she finished her schooling. She returned to school in 1996 after spending several years playing in foreign theaters.When she was twelve years old, she auditioned for a talent competition called AShell Road Fame, but she did not win. However, her exposure during this gig earned her mentorship from one of the Mbhaqanga band members, Mahotella Queens.

Later on, she took part in the national miming competitions when she was fifteen years old and won. From there onwards, she never turned back.Sindi Dlathu, Mzansi’s darling, performed most of her early acts as an understudy to Sarafina under the Legendary Mbongeni Ngema’s dedicated artists from 1988 to 1996. They took the play on tour in the United States, and when they returned to South Africa, she returned to school to finish her matric.

She appeared on stage with legends such as Mary Twala, Abigail Kubeka, and Nomhle Nkonyeni in the 1997 play ‘The Game’ by Duma Ka Ndlovu. She was then cast in Muvhango since its debut in 1997 and left in 2018. She rose to prominence as Nomthandazo “Thandaza” Buthelezi on the show.

Sindi Dlathu has also participated in Soul City, where she played an HIV-positive woman, a job she excelled at. Viewers began to suspect she was HIV positive. She also appeared in the soap opera ‘Generations’ in 2010.
