A week ago, it was reported that Shona Ferguson was fighting for his life in ICU after undergoing a heart surgery at the Milpark private hospital.

Days after undergoing the surgery, Sunday World reported that Shona had succumbed to death and didn’t pull through.

However, his death caused a lot of traffic on social media and in many people’s day to day lives because Shona was, in all respect, a force to be reckoned with.

From the way he carried himself as a human being, as a husband, as a father, a friend, a boss, and as a public figure was of the highest level. It was for this reason that it was near impossible not to notice him and his good deeds.

His death left many heart broken because he was a national asset loved by everyone. But, it was his family that felt the most pain, hence Alicia and Connie poured their hearts out on Instagram.

“This day, 20 years ago (31 July 2001), was the day God brought you into my life, and we haven’t looked back since! Ours is a once in a lifetime kind of love. We joked about how we were going to be in our old age. How we would take turns supporting each other and being strong for each other,” she said.

She continued to say that was struggling to process everything that was happening as it all felt like lived nightmare that she can’t seem to be able to wake up from.

“SHO, my ANGEL, my LOVE, my SKAT, my LAAITIE. We share a once in a lifetime kind of love, a love like no other that surpasses all understanding! A love that outlives even death! You and I WILL meet again when God decides it’s time. In the meantime you live on in our hearts. You’ve owned my heart from the day we met 20 years ago today, and there you will live until we meet again!??Rest now angel,” Connie concluded.

Alicia, the daughter of Connie and Shona Ferguson took to Instagram and wrote that there were words she could possible use to express how she was feeling.

“You fought your fight dad, and I’m so proud of you for making it this far,” Alicia, who matriculated in 2020,” she said.

In the post, she further said that he had left a legacy behind that she will carry on as per promise she made when she was still little. “Thank you for everything that you’ve done for me my doppelgänger. You made a promise to me that you’ll always be there when I need you, so I believe you will always be there even in spirit,” she said.

“I’m going to miss a lot of things, but most importantly, your hugs,” she said in her heartfelt tribute to her dad. “I know you are protecting us from up there in heaven. I miss you and words can’t express how much I love you Fa. Rest in peace my twin.”
