On the inaugural episode of Young, Famous & African, which broadcast on March 18, South African actress Khanyi Mbau set tongues turning when she opened up about her parenting relationship with her daughter Khanukani, fondly known as Khanz.

 

 

 

 

 

On the first episode of Netflix’s Young, Famous & African, Khanyi Mbau revealed she told her daughter she may lose her virginity tomorrow if she wanted to. Andile Ncube and Annie Macaulay-Idibia, her co-stars, were not pleased.

“We let Khanz be herself, and if she wants to try something new, she can.” Khanyi Mbau remarked, “Because we’re curious about who this person is.”

The narrator asks, “However, where do you draw the line?” “What happens when she’s 15 and has a sex curiosity?” Andile is awestruck.

“Virginity can be snatched or misplaced.” So you give it away when you’re ready, and it’s to a boy you’re thinking of marrying. “You admire this person, you’re 15, you think you’re going to marry him… you give it away,” Khanyi continued.

On an episode of Young, Famous & African, Khanyi surprised Andile and Annie by revealing that Khanz lived alone in an apartment next to hers. She claims that she lets her daughter be herself and live independently. Andile and Annie both had strong feelings about it.

“She’s too inexperienced.” This didn’t sit well with me at all. What I was hearing didn’t sit well with me. “She’s still young, and she might not be able to make the best choices,” Annie explained.
