Molemo ‘Jub Jub’ Maarohanye faces three counts of , two counts of attempted murder, and a case of assault.
Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye said Amanda du-Pont was only accusing him of because she had not disclosed their relationship to her husband. The hip-hop artist made these claims in his bail affidavit.
In connection with , attempted murder, and assault allegations, he turned himself in to authorities on Thursday. In the Joburg Magistrates Court, where he made his initial appearance, bail of R10,000 was granted to him without the state’s objection.
The offences date back to between 2006 and 2010 but the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) said that the first complaint was only opened in 2022, after the complainant was apparently initially turned away by police.
However, Maarohanye has questioned the timing in his affidavit in favour of bail.
Furthermore, he has raised the possibility of a hidden agenda, while he acknowledges that this is only “speculation”. He claims the accusations against him are “false” and maintains that he is not responsible for any of the alleged crimes with which he is charged.
