Charmaine Shamiso Mapimbiro who famously as Shasha is a Zimbabwean singer who was born from Mutare and she’s 27 years of age. Shasha regarded as queen of amapiano. Her career began on 2011, at the age of 19 and later was discovered by Audius Mtawarira.

Mapimbiro was born in Mutare and relocated in Zimbabwe as she grew up after the split of her parents and often resided with her grandmother or aunts. After joining the choir, her musical career started, and then she took vocal and piano classes.

One of Mapimbiro’s pals helped build one of the largest radio stations in Zimbabwe to play her music during a teenaged years. Singer-songwriter Audius received a good response and helped her to improve her work in 2017 with help from Zimbabwean musician Soko. Singer-songwoman Audius became her mentor.

Shasha became famously after her collaborations with South African amapiano producers like Kabza De Small who’s real name is Kabelo Petrus Motha and Dj Maphorisa.

Having signed a record deal with Blaq Boy Music, her debut Blossom EP, was released in 2019. She was awarded Best New International Act at the 2020 BET awards.
