Senzo Meyiwa Trail Adjourned As Zandie Khumalo Claims She Has A Pain In Her Chest

Zandile Khumalo, the sister of singer Kelly Khumalo, sobbed uncontrollably when testifying in the murder trial of former Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa. As a result, the court hearings had to be temporarily postponed.

The trial had to reopen this week after President Cyril Ramaphosa removed Judge Tshifhiwa Maumela, so Zandile, the first state witness, started her testimony in the Pretoria High Court on Wednesday.

Senior SABC journalist Chriselda Zozi Lewis took to her Twitter page to update her followers on what’s happening in the courtroom. She tweeted, “BREAKING: The #SenzoMeyiwa murder trial has been adjourned to tomorrow as witness Zandie Khumalo tells the court she has a pain in her chest. The State also says there are problems with her accomodation. This as cross examination of Khumalo was due to start. #sabcnews”

The five men alleged to have killed Meyiwa have pleaded not guilty.

They are facing charges of premeditated murder, attempted murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, possession of firearms without a licence and possession of ammunition.
