DJ Maphorisa has been a prominent part of the South African music scene and he has launched quite a few careers in doing so. However his latest move has people questioning his abilities to choose properly. He tried to promote a new artist and people were NOT pleased.

He took to his Twitter to share a video of himself and a new young boy, writing, “❤️ meet Andrea The Vocalist only 13 years old from Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 just wanna change peoples life’s 🙏🏾” The reaction had positive responses with some praising the young man for his song. It was a rather soothing melody. However there were some people who did not like what they were hearing.

 

 

 

People were vocal about what they were hearing and some of it was unkind.

One user wrote, “Nah send the young man back to class. He can’t even sing”

While another user wrote, “Normalise not lying to children and giving them false hope.”

One user wrote, “School will definitely change his life, the continent needs more doctors. 🙏🏿”

A final user wrote, “Beautiful kid, but uyabhimba. Let him finish school, there’s nothing on this front. Abeg!”

I have to say that the audio wasn’t that bad but I would hardly call him a prodigy. He is still quite young and I don’t think children should be exposed to the entertainment industry until they’re much older.

He can mature and study and become even better than he is now. However, a lot of the comments were laced with hatred for him simply for being Zimbabwean which wasn’t okay with me.
