Trompies member Emmanuel “Mjokes” Matsane has died in a car accident early on Sunday morning.
The group had performed on Saturday night, according to record company Kalawa Jazmee.
Trompies began making music in 1990 and released their debut album Sigiya Ngengoma in 1995.
Kalawa Jazmee music records have announced the sad passing of a top kwaito music legend today. The fifth director and fifth member of Trompies, Bra Mjokes who’s real name is Emmanuel Mojalefa Matsane. Kalawa Jazmee comfirmed that Mjokes passed away in car accident after he performed with Trompies at an event in the early hours of morning 23 May 2021.
Many people on social media are paying their respects and many condolences are pouring in for the top South African music legend. Emmanuel Matsane together with Trompies sharped the South African music and entertainment industry. He will be deeply missed by many people who enjoyed and are still celebrating Trompies music.
