South Africa’s prominent political activist and politician, Julius Sello Malema, was 41 yesterday. The politician has endured adversity, but his perseverance and diligence have paid off, and he is now in a position of power. It was Julius Malema’s 41st birthday yesterday, and the whole of South Africa celebrated by sending him birthday wishes and greetings. The powerful man was raised by his single mother in Limpopo, South Africa (mother). He joined the African National Congress at the young age of nine after being admitted due to his keen interest in politics.

In 1995, he was chosen head of the Seshego branch of the Youth League and regional chairman, marking his first political appointment. This was his first official position in politics. One year later, he won election as the Congress of South Students’ Limpopo province chair.

He was appointed as the organization’s president in 2001, making him a national leader in the field. Throughout the rest of 2009, he faced a number of challenges after being elected president of the ANC, including ANC disciplinary proceedings, an incident involving a BBC journalist, and the Nedbank affair in September 2009.

However, the political controversies did not discourage him from continuing his career, and he has now emerged as a major figure in the modern day. Economic Freedom Fighters was the name he came up with for the political organization he started in 2013. He worked his way up in the party and the following year was elected to parliament. Life story of Malema is inspirational. They had two kids, whom they named Munzhedzi and Kopano, and he eventually married his longtime sweetheart, Mantoa.
