The actor that plays Caiphus, Mabizela, has been involved in the project for more than ten years. He earned his Diploma in Dramatic Arts from Market Theatre Laboratory in 2002 before continuing his education through an exchange program in Sweden.

Michael returned to South Africa after completing his education to begin his performing career at a theater company named Victory Sinqoba Theatre. He appeared in many films, including Shadows, The Good Lady, and TRC Wasted Lives. He didn’t begin his television career until 2013 with a part in Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom. Before taking on his current role as Caiphus on Scandal, Michael went on to land further roles in shows like The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency and many others.

Michael has also done ads for Vodacom, Netstar, Sony, Nedbank, and a number of other corporations throughout the years. He is also a businessman and the creator of Twilight Theatre Organisation, which is headquartered in his hometown of Alexandra Township.
