SABC1 soapie Uzalo actress Gugu Gumede well-known as Hlengiwe Mlambo aka MaMlambo is the daughter of one of the most influential politicians in South Africa and she has had quite a privileged life growing up.
It is a well-known fact that the Gumede is the daughter of NFP president Zanele kaMagwaza-Msibi.
The late South African-born former school principal and politician who also served as the minister of Science and Technology in the country in the cabinet of former president Jacob Zuma.
kaMagwaza-Msibi was also the president of NFP. Prior to being elected to parliament, she served for 19 years as a councillor, 15 years of those as the mayor of the Zululand District municipality.
She was formerly the chairperson of the IFP and served as the party’s candidate for premier of KwaZulu-Natal in the 2009 general elections.
Gumede grew up in Ulundi, a small village in KwaZulu-Natal. However, at some point she and her family had to relocate to Durban, KwaZulu-Natal because of her mother’s work.
kaMagwaza-Msibi in 2021, passed away after she was admitted to the Umhlanga Hospital in Durban for two weeks. It was reported that her cause of death was Covid-19 related illnesses.
The house of which is part of kaMagwaza-Msibi’s estate is situated in Umhlanga Ridge, North of Durban.
It is no surprise that their family home is grand, because being in politics pays well. KaMagwaza-Msibi worked hard to give her children a better life, gone but not forgotten because she has left a legacy for her children, which includes her house.
