Sbusiso Leope populary known as DJ Sbu has been building his Mo Faya brand for almost a decade now. He went from being on our TV screens and over the radio to being on the road selling his energy drink from the booth of his car. It was evident he was a man on a mission and had a vision for his brand, the DJ has proved that indeed hardwork pays off thanks to the success of Mo Faya.

On the month of June the DJ posted a photo of a trash collector taken in the streets of Johannesburg. The man was seen with a number of cans decorated all over his body as if he was a Christmas tree. What stood out from the photo was that he had the Mofaya cans as his crown. He captioned the photo of the unknown man, with a very emotional message. He stated that the photo left him emotional as it took him back to his humble beginnings when building his brand from the ground.

It’s been over a month since he asked the public to help find the trash can collector, The 44 year old finally made a break through when he came across the man in Johannesburg. Sbu posted a video of his meeting with the unknown man, he met him at his usual spot in the streets of Joburg. This time around he only had Mo Faya cans all over, when Sbu asked if he knew who he was, he was quick to say no but stated that he loved the Mo Faya drink.

“Glad to meet this brother. Let’s see how we help him realize his dreams”

At the end of the video Sbu gives the man R50, thanking him for showing love to his brand. This did not sit well with his followers as many felt like R50 was nothing coming from a business man. Some went as far as saying this video should have never been posted online since it lacked generosity and appreciation from the radio DJ.
