The leading kwaito and amapiano female musicians first teased their upcoming single titled “SBWL” a few weeks back with the monochromatic signature promotional shots from the single’s promotional shoot together. When the first images were revealed with confirmation that the two would release a song together it was the surprise collaboration that nobody asked for, only to find out that would actually sound as great as imagined.

Ahead of the release of the single, Kamo Mphela and Busiswa revealed that they were taking the release of the single a step further. They announced the simultaneous release of the “SBWL” music video. The music video is a tropical feast, featuring an eatirely female (or LGBTI+) cast embracing and celebrating each other and their differently beautiful forms.

The music video which currently sits with over 44 000 views on Instagram has been met with mixed reviews. Some of the comments have suggested that the music video gives them Cardi and Megan the Stallion’s “WAP” videos. But Busiswa addressed the matter during a behind-the-scenes video, stating that her and Kamo had created the song and the music video long before “WAP” was a thing. So in an effort to continue promoting the song, the two have launched the “SBWL Challenge” on social media. The video showcasing the dance moves to the challenge were first shared through an Instagram live session that was hosted on Kamo Mphela’s Instagram a day after the release.

But Busiswa later posted the video on her Instagram feed. The video features Kamo, along with her dancers and Busiswa’s dancers all collaborating together to give us a step-by-step tutorial on how to dance to the challenge. Kamo gives even a step further by throwing in some improvised dance moves. The leading amapiano female vocalist continues to cement that she is a choreographer and that she does not repeat dance moves. Ever! This is after the star has been dragged on social media on-and-off with suppositions that she is a “dance move repeater.” Kamo had initially not addressed the drag. But the bigger her spotlight became the less she entertained the drags and has made it clear that if you come for her dance moves she will block you.
