Sannah Mchunu is the woman she thinks she is.
Sannah “Sana” Mchunu (born 19 March 1972), is a South African actress. She is best known for the roles in television serials such as; eKasi: Our Stories, Muvhango, The River and Gomora.
Personal Life
Mchunu was born on 19 March 1972 in Mofolo North, Soweto, South Africa. She could not complete her education due to having children at a very young age. At the age of 14, she became pregnant with her first child. Then she welcomes her second child at 19. Then she falls pregnant again after her parents send her back to school. After her parents died she lived with her fourth child’s father. When she became pregnant again with her fifth child, her husband started abusing her physically and emotionally. With all, she led the children with him. Currently, she is a mother of seven children.
Career
In her teen years, Sana used to dance for the late Brenda Fassie, which was later interrupted due to pregnancy. After many years as a mother of four, she went for an audition under the guidance of her friend, Winnie Khumalo. She was later selected to play a supportive role in the serial eKasi: Our Stories. In 2013, Sana joined with the fifth season of the Etv anthology serial eKasi: Our Stories and played the role Mrs Simelane often called Sis K. She continue to play in the sixth season of the series with the multiple roles Rebecca, Mrs Khumalo and Gladys.
Then she played the role of Grace Letsoalo in Mzansi Magic mini series Vuka Mawulele. In the same year she appeared in two more serials as Mrs Qoboza in SABC 1 mystery thriller End Game. In 2015, she joined with the Mzansi Magic soap Isibaya and played the role Ma Ruth. In 2018, she acted in 1 Magic telenovela The River as Matilda. In 2020, Sana appeared in the Mzansi Magic telenovela Gomora with the role of Zodwa where she reprised her role in the second season as well.
