Individuals have a tendency to believe that the people they see on TV have everything under control. When we look at images of people on social media, we tend to believe that they are living the life that we all desire. It’s all about the glitz and glam, and living your best life.
There are folks that are struggling, so not everything you see is positive. Samkelo Ndlovu, a former Rhythm City actress and singer, has been accused of owing someone money. The DJ chastised the actress on Twitter for not paying him R12000.
He shared screenshots of them conversing on Whatsapp. She keeps promising to pay him during the conversation, then ducks and dives away from the situation. Before claiming to be in the studio, she creates excuses for being on set. She goes on to say that she hasn’t worked since the lockdown started. Her stories don’t add up, demonstrating that she isn’t lying. She is also the director of a charity that aids the less fortunate. Some are concerned that the monies will not be distributed to individuals in need because the foundation was only recently established.
Rather than apologizing, she informed him she wouldn’t give him the money and that he should sue her. She further claimed that in order for her to compensate him, he should have taken the screenshots from social media. The man has been anticipating this moment for months. This isn’t right, and how does she explain it to him? Taking advantage of someone is unethical. She also made her Instagram page private so that no one could remark on it.
