Spokesperson for friends and family, Musa Madlala, who is known as an old man with style, said Bhekezakhe died on Monday after being stabbed. Explaining his music, he said that he was a big problem because his peers at that time were being fed up.
“Morris was a man who loved to laugh at himself, he didn’t care about anyone, his passing leaves a big void because he was like a brother to me, he was a person who loved people and his music. It is painful for us but we say he played a huge role in the music industry. He started playing music in the 1970s when he sang for Madlala Brothers, a group that was very popular at the time. In the 1980s, he sang in a group called Bakhwenyana, which after the death of the lead singer, he became the lead singer.
In Bakhwenyana, he released two albums, “Ubani Oreheleung” and “Things are Bad,” said Musa.
He will be buried on Saturday at his home in Dududu. “We say that all Mbhaqanga music lovers are heading to Dududu to hide their hero because he played a big role in the development of their music,” said Musa.
