The South African entertainment industry has grown immensely, and more soapies are coming out of the industry with new talent. This year alone, new faces were introduced to the acting industry, and so far many South Africans have enjoyed their talents. This is because South Africa has asked for the entertainment industry to be opened and for people to be given opportunities. But many of the beloved soap operas that people have enjoyed watching were eventually cancelled for new ones to be introduced.

 

 

 
On TV, people started watching a fairly new soap opera called Durban General, or Gen for short. It is a medical drama soap opera about doctors and nurses. And it mostly takes place at the hospital. So far, people have enjoyed the different characters and some of the storylines, even though when it was first introduced, people did not enjoy it much, and it received a lot of criticism from some viewers.

But Durban Gen has already gone through a few seasons and gained more viewership, but unfortunately for those who are enjoying it, they might have to say goodbye to it just for a little while because it will be taking a break. Durban Gen will be taking a break from the 16th of December and will be back on the 9th of January 2023. And while viewers will be waiting for its return, the show Men Don’t Cry will be put in its place for a little while.
