South African popular DJ who was killed this week will be laid to rest. Family, friends and the music industry at large gathered in Pretoria to celebrate the life of Oupa Sefoka known as Dj Sumbody. His memorial service was held in Centurion.
Sefoka and another person he was traveling with was shot and killed in a hail of bullets this past weekend in Sandton. The motive for the shooting is still unknown and the suspects are still at large.
Besides being a DJ, the amapiano producer was also a businessman and owned a chain of clubs in Pretoria. Police have appealed for anyone with more information to come forward.
The musician and businessman Oupa John DJ Sumbody Sefoka was regarded as a game changer in the South African music industry, and his immense contribution to the music industry will be forever cherished.
Reacting to the assassination of the musician, critics revealed that what is happening in Pretoria right now is the same thing that’s been happening in Pietermaritzburg for the past 24 months. They said it’s all drug related, and has nothing to do with nightclubs or taxis.
