Sad: Katlego’s Mother Seen Praying As Accused Set To Hear Court Judgement

Katlego Bereng’s mother who is seeking justice for her son who was burnt beyond recognition in Thabo Bester’s prison cell, was seen praying outside court.

She has been making court appearances, and the last court hearing, she was seen shedding tears after it was revealed how her son was sneaked into prison, and later burnt in Thabo Bester’s prison cell.

The mother of Katlego had arrived at the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court, when she was seen kneeling and praying ahead of the bail decision of the five accused today. Several friends and relatives of the deceased have also been calling for justice.

They said the accused must not be granted bail. It is a hard day for Katlego Bereng’s family who have lit candles and placed a banner outside the court. Bereng’s charred body was found in Bester’s cell and used as a decoy in the escape.

Even though their son is gone, and never coming back, his family said if the accused are denied bail, this will at least give them a relief. But if today the accused are granted bail, it will add more pain to their wounds.

Social critics said seeing a mother going through this amount of pain is heartbreaking. They said it can be better if the accused are denied bail. The mother of Katlego has been following up on the trial of the accused consistently by showing up in court.

“Hearing that voice of a mother who gave birth to Katlego, i just wish the court denied them bail. All of them should remain behind bars forever,” said a social critic.

“She is going through so much. We are praying along mama. It’s so painful. Thabo Bester, Dr Nandi Magudumana and all those accused must pay for their crimes.”

That picture alone left many heartbroken. She is a grieving woman, and South Africans are sympathising with her.
