Lira, an R&B chanteuse, has canceled her much-anticipated appearance at an annual beauty contest in Joburg due to a serious stroke she experienced while on tour in Germany last month.

 

 

 

Lira, actual name Lerato Molapo, was scheduled to serenade the kings and queens of Joburg during the Miss Bachelorette South Africa Beauty Pageant on Saturday, April 23 at Gold Reef City in Joburg.

However, the internationally renowned singer withdrew from the 3rd annual finale, and was replaced by Ringo Madlingozi, a fellow R&B performer and EFF Member of Parliament.

Lira’s management called the event organizers, Thobela FM anchor Sibasa Mogale and his wife, and told them that the songbird would no longer be there, according to a deep throat who did not want to be identified for fear of being victimized.

The Mogale’s replaced her with Madlingozi as a result of the cancellation.
