It is becoming a norm now for radio presenters to fall ill during their shows and unable to finish working. We have seen this happening on Ukhozi FM where some of the presenters could not finish doing their shows as they fell all.
Back in the years, Ukhozi FM lost their presenter, Mandla Ngcobo who fell ill and ended passing away. It didn’t end there as many people got sick thereafter while on air.
Recently, Sya Mhlongo fell ill while doing his show on March and resulted in him to leave immediately. It is not known what causes them to fall sick suddenly when they are on air.
Now, this seems to have fallen on Gagasi FM as two presenters have fallen ill while they are on air.
Confusion got to many listeners on Tuesday after the radio presenter could not finish his show as he fell ill.
DJ Sphe Live who was presenting for the first time Gagasi FM Music Session: Dance, since this station started to make changes last on the 1st of April. DJ Sphe was having DJ Sbu as a guest in his show and suddenly he could not be heard speaking as the music continuously played until the end of the show.
According to sources, DJ Sphe suddenly fell ill and was forced to stop broadcasting as he was hurriedly sent home.
When contacted for comment, he requested that the station’s spokesperson be contacted, Khulekani Shandu.
As Shandu was contacted, he confirmed that Sphe could not finish his show and stated that something came up.
Khulekani added by saying that he is still waiting to confirm his condition right now but he also revealed that on the weekend, he will be present to do his Saturday show, Breakfast Gang Gang and Sunday show, Sunday Chill Zone.
