SA reacts to Kairo Forbes ’: ‘Should’ve given it to a poor kid

Earlier this week, Nedbank aired their latest advertisement which features the daughter of late rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and musician Ntombezinhle “DJ Zinhle” Jiyane. While many celebrated the nine-year-old’s great performance in the ad, not everyone was pleased.

According to some South Africans who have headed online to share their thoughts on the ad, the opportunity should have been given to a child from a less privileged background.
It was a proud moment for mom-of-two DJ Zinhle who can be spotted starring alongside her firstborn Kairo Olwethu Forbes in a Nedbank ad.

The ad which has already gone viral on social media, features Kairo encouraging her peers to sign up for Chow Town — a virtual game — which according to Nedbank, is aimed at “nurturing budding young gamers’ entrepreneurial and financial management skills.”

While many have applauded the young influencer’s performance in the clip, not everyone is pleased to see another famous face featured by a big brand.

Taking to social media, some Twitter users pointed out that the opportunity should have been given to a talented youngster who is less fortunate than Kairo.

“Money goes to the money. The poor remains poor,” one person wrote about the ad.

It would appear that many others agree with tweet and headed to the comment section to share their thoughts.

“The rich get richer and the poor get poorer,” wrote one person while another said:

“AKA would have been Soo proud of her though…”

The pair have left social media users weeping with sweet posts and videos of them spending time together.

Many are moved at how Murdah has stepped up for Kairo since the passing of her father AKA in February this year.
