Rooted drops new tribal house single Imithwalo

DJ, producer, singer & songwriter Rooted real name Brian Letsoalo, has made a grand entrance into the country’s music scene with his new single “Imithwalo.”
 

 

South African musicians have kept fans entertained throughout the uncertain times the world has found itself in. While other projects offer an escape, others try to deal with the challenges the world faces.

The versatile artist uses mostly uses IsiZulu language in this single, a deliberate move that plays into the concept Imithwalo- burdens, a medium used to convey certain things that comes with being bestowed with the healing gifts, while the beat pays homage to the drums of the spiritual realm.

Rooted is no new to this industry he has worked with some of the most celebrated music industry names such as Bob Ezy, DJ Game SA to name a few but then he was more focused on production work.“ I’ve been working in the industry commercially for over a decade now honing my skills in studio, on remixes and producing for well known artists. I have been building my brand and learning so much to get me to this stage of my career, where I’m comfortable with my skills set and sound,” he says.

He adds, “I’m glad to be releasing music again , not only as a producer & DJ but also as an artist. I hope this single touches many lives.”

The born and bred in Mamelodi, Pretoria artist has impressive career highlights from being nominated 2014 in the Metro FM Awards for featuring on Soul Candi’s Africa 2 Africa Vol. 1 & 2 , Soul Candi Remix Competition for Bob Ezy & Bevan Godden’s Summer Rain Michael Ashley, also was a Partner Host of Mams Arts Festival @ Moretele Park in 2016 to being part of SABC1’ Remix Show Competition as remixing producer in 2018
