Tv and radio personality Marietjie Bothma, also known as Intombi Yomzulu, has died after a short illness.
Marietjie Bothma, a radio broadcaster and actress, traveled to Thabang Mochela’s house in the Vaal two weeks ago to “rest” from her busy schedule. They had no idea that their time together would be limited.
After a brief illness, Bothma, also known as Intombi Yomzulu, passed away on Monday at Kopanong Hospital in Vereeniging. Aged 40, she was.
She won the nation’s affection when she spoke Zulu in a pie commercial and made appearances on some of Mzansi’s most popular soap operas. She also spoke at the swearing-in ceremony for the former president Jacob Zuma.
Mochela, who drove the media celebrity to the hospital, admitted that she was finding it difficult to accept her friend’s passing. Before she passed away, she recalled giving the star food and a wash.
