RIP: Supports raised over R270k for Angie Oeh before she died

On 14 August, via a heartbreaking Instagram post, Angie Oeh, the 24-year-old Afrikaans singer whose real name is Angelique Eurika Greeff pleaded with her fans and supporters to help her reach R200 000 for her cancer treatment and surgery – unfortunately, she died just days later, despite having met her goal.


 

 

Last week Monday, Angie Oeh had her fans and social media followers in their feeling and sympathising with her after she shared with them that she had been diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. She cried out for help and shared that she feared for her life.

She then begged to be assisted in reaching her goal of getting up to R200 000 for surgery and her treatment. A campaign named Back A Buddy was opened for contributions towards reaching the her goal.

“Her creativity, work ethic, lovingness, and sincerity was tangible. Her music will live on and she will never be forgotten,” Angie Oeh’s manager and close friend, Wynand Myburgh was quoted as saying.

According to The Citizen, fans, friends, and supporters came in numbers and raised over R270 000 in less than a week for the late singer.
