With all that happening, Skeem Saam have lost one of their actresses to death after they took they their Twitter handle and announced how heart broken they are to have heard of the passing of the Nokuzola Mengana who portrays the character of Sis Ouma, the security guard at the Turfloop University.

Sis Ouma had lost her husband Ramolao a few years back who was also replace by another actor, not it is Sis Ouma who they will be looking for someone to replace.

She was a bubbly and hands on security official who used to give T-bos and Kwaito trouble when they were still in Johannesburg, they found themselves having to deal with her at Turfloop after she got married to Ramolao.

Where is Nokuzola Mlenganan originally from?
Nokuzola Mlenganan was born and bred in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa in 1963. She remained in the Eastern Cape till 1994 when she relocated to Johannesburg. Currently, Nokuzola Mlenganan resides peacefully in Lyndhurst, Johannesburg.

 

 

 

 

Why did Nokuzola Mlenganan drop out of school?
Nokuzola dropped out of school in grade 11 after falling pregnant. She became a victim of shaming until she decided not to go back to school. Nokuzola began hustling to cover up for her fallbacks while earning a living. She resorted to selling clothes and groceries to fend for herself and her daughter.
Nokuzola decided to audition for television in a bid to earn some income as well as get over her painful 2005 divorce. Reflecting back on that period she said, “I went to all the auditions I heard and I performed not knowing what I was doing due to lack of training”. She then heard of Skeem Saam auditions late and when she arrived they were closed but she forced herself in and ultimately got the role of Sis Ouma. Looking back, she applauds her faith and resilience.
