We have seen a lot of politicians pass away in previous years, and it seems there is nothing that has changed this year, as former South African President De Klerk has recently been announced dead at the age of 85.

about an hour ago, it has been said that Dave Steward the spokesperson on De Klerk foundation confirmed to the News24 team that FW De Klerk has passed away on Thursday which is today, By saying “The former president died earlier this morning at his home in Fresnaye after his struggle against cancer. He was 85-years-old. He is survived by his wife Elita, two children Susan and Jan, and his grandchildren.”

As Mr Dave Steward said, the former president was battling cancer, and it seems that cancer finally took his life. Although it was never said for how long he had been struggling, he did live a much longer and fulfilled life.

I’m certain that most of the younger generation do not know who FW De Klerk is, in short, he was the president who led the country before late former president Nelson Mandela came in and took over leadership as the first black South African president.

It seems that a lot of people were saddened by the news, as it was not expected. People have been leaving their comments and condolences on the n Twitter page as they were the first to send out the news to the public. It sure is a dark time for the country, for the loss of another great man.
