32-year-old arrested after hitting an 18-year-old girl with a car and she landed on the house roof
According to Cape Town police, a 32-year-old male has been detained in relation to the death of a Bonteheuwel matriculant.
Taytim-Lee Hendricks, 18, passed away in the hospital on Sunday after being struck by a driver who was allegedly intoxicated and driving without a license.
The driver is said to have stolen his father’s car and operated the vehicle while intoxicated.
According to the police, he was accused of culpable homicide and dangerous and negligent driving.
On Tuesday, he is scheduled to appear in court.
“The adult male who was the driver of a car that struck and murdered Taytim Hendricks has been apprehended,” said local ward councillor Angus McKenzie. He’ll face charges. A thorough investigation will guarantee that the family, friends, and residents of Bonteheuwel will receive appropriate justice for this horrific act.
Hendricks and another man were knocked unconscious after the suspect lost control of the car after colliding with a gate and speeding down Bonteheuwel Avenue.
The teen was struck so forcefully that her corpse was thrown onto a house’s roof.
After hitting the pedestrians, the car then plowed into two properties along Bluegum Avenue.
