Williams: “The Wire” Actor Found Dead”

“The Wire” actor Michael Williams found dead in his New York apartment. The actor was found dead at the age of 54 on Monday at 2. pm by a family member.

The 54-year-old Micheal Williams is suspected to have been overdosed on heroin. Authorities pronounced Williams dead at 2:12 p.m., sources said, adding that it appeared the TV star had fatally overdosed. Williams had previously spoken openly about his drug problems. The actor’s death could have been a long time coming.

Williams, who was born and raised in Brooklyn, began his career as a dancer, performing in music videos and touring with Madonna and George Michael.

“No foul play indicated,’’ a police source said. “No forced entry, the apartment was in order.’’
Micheal had previously spoken up about his drug problems, notably during the filming of “The Wire,” claiming that immersing himself in the part of Little, who robs heroin dealers, had an impact on him in real life.

In a statement to the Hollywood Reporter, his family asks for privacy during these hard times.
