Replacement for top presenter who dumped SABC for Supersport has been announced

The public broadcaster, South African Broadcasting Services (SABC), has picked themselves up after they were dumped by the top presenter who has been with the public broadcaster for close to a decade.

Last week, South Africans learnt that the seasoned sports presenter, Thomas Mlambo has resigned from the SABC after he rejoined it in 2013.

He is undoubtedly one of best sports presenters the SABC has ever had. I can even say that Mlambo is the best sports presenter even in the country. When we count the best presenters, his name is there, we can’t leave it out.

This is why SABC gave him a fat cheque out of SuperSport channel which pays more than the SABC. He was even given a show on Monday evenings in SABC 1 called, Sports at 10 which drew many viewers.

Unfortunately, it came to an end as he left again to join the SuperSport channel after the veteran sportscaster, Robert Marawa left.

In a statement issued by the SABC, Andile Ncube has been hired to replace Mlambo on Soccerzone.

Ncube is not new in sports presenting as he has presented Soccerzone at some point and even stood in for Mlambo on Sports at 10.

He will be joined by footballer turned analyst, Phumuzudzo Manezhe who will oversee both analyst and commentary.
