After the tragic loss of Bafana Bafana goalie Senzo Meyiwa in October 2014, businessman-cum-musician Chicco Twala was overheard talking to artist Kelly Khumalo, asking her if she would not want to take a vacation outside of the country.

Tumelo Madlala, a friend of Meyiwa’s, visited Kelly in Mulbarton, a suburb located in the south of Johannesburg, after the murder of Meyiwa. Mulbarton is the same suburb where the deceased footballer and his socialite girlfriend shared a town house. Kelly was Meyiwa’s girlfriend.

“I am not sure about the day, but Chicco Twala arrived when I was still at Mulbarton. I am sorry I cannot be more specific. During such times, Kelly was crying a lot, and I was sick myself. She is the one who revealed to Chicco that Senzo has a friend in common with this individual. “Chicco Twala is Longwe’s father,” Madlala stated in front of the judge.

“I overheard him speaking to Kelly, asking Kelly whether she had any reservations about traveling abroad for some holiday,”.

Meyiwa was shot and died on October 26, 2014, in the town of Vosloorus, while he was in the presence of his girlfriend and the mother of his kid, Kelly Khumalo.

In the house on that particular day were Meyiwa, Kelly and her younger sister Zandile, their mother Ntombi Khumalo (MaKhumalo), Longwe Twala, Meyiwa’s friends Mthokozisi Thwala and Tumelo Madlala, Kelly’s then 4-year-old son Christian, and Thingo, her daughter with Meyiwa.

Earlier, Madlala recounted to the court how a fight broke out at the Botshelong Hospital in Vosloorus shortly after the death of the outstanding goalie for Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates.

Meyiwa was shot during an alleged home invasion in October 2014 at the residence of his girlfriend and musician Kelly Khumalo. Madlala is the first witness among the people who were in the house at the time Meyiwa was shot. Madlala is a musician.

Madlala detailed the unpleasant events that transpired upon the arrival of Meyiwa’s wife, Mandisa, at the medical facility.

“I was crying as I questioned him, ‘Senzo, is this what you summoned me to come and witness?’” He was positioned so that he was facing the top of the stretcher. After giving him a peck on the cheek and removing Senzo’s watch from his hand, Kelly and I walked out of the room, leaving him alone. “The nurses escorted us to a waiting area that contained benches,” Madlala explained.

At that point in time, the hospital had already reached its maximum capacity. Even Mandisa, Senzo’s wife, made it there in the end. I do not know who she was with when I saw her. A large number of cars and several soccer players from the Orlando Pirates organization arrived. It had reached a hectic state near the glass doors of the hospital, and I believe that Mandisa and Kelly were arguing with each other. I noticed some hair that had fallen on the floor.

“There was a quarrel, but I do not know if it was between Mandisa and her companion. “When I looked closer, I noticed the hair,” Madlala explained.

Judge Tshifhiwa Maumela questioned Madlala about whether or not it was “hair or wig,” and Madlala responded that it was braids that are regularly worn on top of hair.

On Tuesday, Madlala sobbed hysterically in court, which resulted in the adjournment of his highly anticipated testimony at an earlier time.

Madlala arrived in the city from Durban on a flight on Monday afternoon in order to testify in the high-profile murder case.
