There’s numerous pictures of the South African President Cyril Ramaphosa entangled with seat belts in a bus. One felt that this was another fabricated pictures as he’s been made a meme in the country for numerous years now. Hence, when the recent pictures of Ramaphosa being taken to the revamped busses that cater for the disabled was questioned by certain individuals. According to reports, the pictures and videos were taken in an economic emancipation of and for persons living with disabilities summit eKempton Park on Friday. As some officials involved had to demonstrate to their leader in terms of how they’ll be going about being inclusive to the individual with disabilities in the public transport.
What caught the eyes of people is how uncomfortable he looked in the pictures. As he was taken to the bus whereby individuals on a wheelchair will be kept for the duration of their trip. The challenge part was when he had to put on the seat belts that would make sure that he’s not moving up and down inside the bus. One issue was how tight the seat belts were on him, hence some individuals wonder how he was breathing in that state. As there was one seat belt on his neck which made it look like he was struggling to breathe.
Not only that, but the seat belts across his chest and stomach seemed tighter than normal. As that meant he could barely move to touch the button that needs to be pressed to alert the bus driver that he’s getting off from the next bus stop. It’s clear that Mzansi has a long way to be inclusive in their public transportation, as disable individual find it difficult to utilise such necessity.
