In a new post to Twitter the rapper announced that he would be releasing new sock shoes as part of his brand YEEZY. Kanye described his new shoe as the “foldable future of footwear”.

 
“YEEZY debuts the foldable future of footwear, YZY POD,” Kanye West wrote in a screenshot posted to Twitter on Friday, the 15 December.The rapper and fashion designer announced that the pair of travel-friendly shoes were on presale and were priced at $200 which amounts to over R3000.

The price tag for the sock shoes have left many fans were fuming.

“YE $200 for a sock is crazy,” one user shared.

Another user jokingly noted that if he is paying so much for socks, he better be able to levitate in them.

“Who is paying [$200] for a pair of socks lol,” a third user commented.
According to Page Six this product is Kanye’s first product to drop since Adidas terminated their contract with the rapper in October 2022.

This came after West’s public feud with the global athleisure brand when he made numerous antisemitic comments.

“Adidas does not tolerate antisemitism and any other sort of hate speech. Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness”, the athletic company said at the time of their public feud with Kanye.
