Self proclaimed prophet and a pastor of ECG church was arrested in October allegedly for Corruption and Money laundering in his Investment company amounting to R102 Million. Bushiri and wife was released on bail in November amounting to R200 000 each with restrictions of that they are not allowed to move to any place except Gauteng and North West.

Bushiri and wife unlawfully escaped the country in November to his home country Malawi. The prophet said in his social media platforms that he didn’t feel safe in South Africa because some people were threatening to kill him. He added by saying that he had no choice but to leave the country in order to protect his life.
